Desta vez, o craque português voltou a estar em destaque por, alegadamente, ter agredido uma jovem de 17 anos que apenas pretendia "um autógrafo", por "ser fã dele", segundo escreve o Correio da Manhã. Segundo o diário, o internacional português estava com a mãe, Dolores Aveiro, no Parque das Nações, em Lisboa, quando partiu a pontapé o vidro do carro onde a jovem se encontrava. Ao que tudo indica, Cristiano Ronaldo não terá gostado de ver que a menor estava a filmá-lo, daí a reacção violenta, que levou a que esta tivesse de ser assistida no Hospital de São José no passado domingo.
Mas existem várias versões deste episódio, sendo que uma delas remete para o facto da envolvida não ter sido propriamente uma vítima. De facto, o jornal 24 Horas, que cita fontes policiais, avança que no interior do carro também se encontrava um paparazzi e que ambos terão perseguido o jogador durante a tarde, o que terá feito com que este tenha perdido o controlo. Entretanto, a polícia confirmou ao diário que foi apresentada uma queixa contra o jogador na PSP dos Olivais.

Perseguiu-me de automóvel desde o Hotel Ritz até à zona da Expo, onde tenho o meu apartamento, estando eu acompanhado da minha mãe e ele de uma jovem que durante todo o percurso filmou ostensiva e provocatoriamente todos os nossos gestos. (...) Quando é a minha mãe que está em causa não admito que ninguém a moleste. Lamento o gesto que tive. Quando a minha mãe é envolvida é-me extremamente difícil manter a presença de espírito", explicou o futebolista à Gestifute, a empresa que gere a sua carreira. O futebolista internacional português Cristiano Ronaldo, jogador do Manchester United, foi esta segunda-feira eleito o melhor jogador do Mundo de 2008 pela FIFA, na Gala da organismo, em Zurique, Suíça.
Cristiano Ronaldo, que já havia ganho a “Bola de Ouro”, tornou-se o segundo português a conquistar o troféu, depois de Figo, em 2001.
Em 2008, o extremo luso, de 23 anos, venceu o Mundial de clubes, a Liga dos Campeões e a Liga inglesa, sendo eleito o melhor jogador da “Champions” (também o melhor avançado) e da “Premiership”, provas em que foi igualmente o melhor marcador.
Com os 31 golos apontados na época 2007/2008 do campeonato inglês, Cristiano Ronaldo conquistou também a “Bota de Ouro”, num ano em que só lhe faltou brilhar pela selecção das “quinas” (eliminação nos quartos-de-final do Europeu, face à Alemanha).
Cristiano Ronaldo tornou-se igualmente o segundo jogador a conquistar no mesmo ano a Bota de Ouro, a Bola de Ouro e o troféu da FIFA, depois do brasileiro Ronaldo, em 1997.

O internacional português foi vítima de um acidente de viação, no passado dia 8 de Janeiro, numa estrada perto do aeroporto de Manchester. Por sorte saiu sem um arranhão, mas o seu Ferrari de 163 mil euros não teve a mesma sorte ficando reduzido a sucata.

Segundo testemunhas citadas pela BBC e pelo jornal "Manchester Evening News", após o acidente, Ronaldo saiu do carro e ficou algum tempo junto do veículo destruído, sem qualquer lesão aparente, embora algo agitado e nervoso.
Jody Lomax, testemunha ocular do acidente, conduzia atrás de Ronaldo quando se deu o despiste. "O Ferrari foi directamente contra a parede, a roda frontal do lado esquerdo saltou e depois Ronaldo saiu do carro", afirmou à BBC. "Obviamente que fiquei impressionado ao ver um Ferrari ir contra a parede e ver o Ronaldo. Ele estava nervoso - quem não ficaria? - mas é uma pena pelo carro, também", acrescentou.
"Cheguei lá mesmo a seguir ao acidente e vi o estado do carro. É espantoso como Ronaldo saiu sem um arranhão", conta outra testemunha, descrevendo que a frente do Ferrari ficou completamente destruída e que uma das rodas dianteiras se encontrava a 200 metros da viatura....
